Dave Henrys Photography was established in April 2006, as Dave (with the full support of his wife Alison and their three children who have all grown up with a camera lens regularly in their faces!) took the giant leap to turn his hobby into his business, combining his previous management, business support and I.T. skills with his love of photography and printing training and experience.

In the intervening years, Dave has covered a huge array of weddings and events for a whole host of different people from all walks of life. The business is surviving the recession through the solid reputation that Dave has now built up, with word of mouth still providing the best referrals. As well as the quality of images, clients have had the bonus of Dave's unobtrusive and friendly style of working which has led to many long term customer relationships, from wedding to christenings and beyond as the years go by.

Operating from his home in Flintshire, North Wales, close to the English border, provides easy access to the major road networks for the whole of the UK - no distance too far! Having previously spent many years in Management Services and Business Support in the public sector, Dave still carries out consultancy work in this area.

Dave is available to photograph Weddings, Christenings and other family events, Portraits, Modelling / Acting portfolios, Events and Commercial projects. We hope that you will get a flavour of the quality that we can provide from the Galleries here on the website.

Dave offers a range of media depending on your requirements, although the vast majority of work is now shot in digital. Using film scanners and computer software enables us to convert old photographs, transparencies and even negatives into digital format, also offering minor Restoration works where necessary.

Between projects Dave takes the opportunity to indulge his own personal photography tastes, Chester Zoo being a particular favourite location to keep his eye in. A number of images from these visits (and other places that the family go to) can be viewed on the Dave Henrys Photography FACEBOOK page and can be purchased in a variety of formats including prints, enlargements and photo gifts (including photo mugs like the ones below).

In addition, the whole Henrys family are lifelong Manchester City FC supporters and are enjoying the recent upturn in club fortunes that culminated in lifting the Premier League trophy in May 2012 in dramatic circumstances ('Aguerooooooooo!!') Images from the victory parade, and several others that have taken place since as success has endured, can be seen dotted around this site.

Dave used to be heavily involved in local veterans football but efforts to continually defy the ageing process with Northop Hall Old Boys FC also disappeared with the covid lockdown, although he does still turn out for the 2nd XI of the Chester County Officers Cricket Club and will be skippering the Sunday team again this year.

One of his other hobbies is genealogy, delving into the history of both his natural and adopted families through the ages, especially now so much is available online (if you know where to look!). Dave offers a service to photograph local landmarks and monuments pertinent to the Family History of those who live away from the area and to provide some further local research where appropriate. Dave's other passion is for popular music. A very pleasant bi-product of spending hours in front of the computer processing pictures is the time it affords to listen to a wide range of tunes and he also likes to get to a few live gigs from time to time. His ambition is to one day be able to combine his photography and other hobbies and get to be close to the top action with camera in hand!
