Northop Hall Old Boys 2008/09 Season

Dave Henrys Photography

About Us

The Old Boys are an over-35's football club based in the village of Northop Hall in Flintshire in North Wales. Formed in the summer of 2008, many of us played for the now defunct Northop Hall Veterans for many years previously and a good many "proper" teams before that.

Those years are catching up with most of us and younger "veterans" are coming through to take our place. But the Old Boys refuse to hang up the boots and succumb to the Saturday afternoon shopping trip and we have a full set of fixtures to take us across and beyond the local vacinity again this season.

From 2015/16 the club has run an official over 50's "supervets" team. The intention is to arrange a monthly midweek fixture (around 8 games per season) for the older generation to enjoy games wholly within their own age group.

Once again, there will be no let up in the enthusiasm at all levels, although speed of mind tends to be greater than speed of foot (except when it comes to getting to the bar after the game!)

To keep up the fitness and continuity, we play seven-a-side (or more) on a Tuesday evening 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the new 4G outdoor pitch at Connahs Quay Sports centre.
